The NOAO Digital Library
Save-the-Bits (STB): CTIO and KPNO routinely copy and store most data from CCD's and infrared arrays at all their nighttime telescopes. These data are available only by special permission from the Director.
Spectral Atlas Central: This page has links to spectral atlases (plots and wavelength ranges in air) for Thorium Argon, Iron Argon, Helium Neon Argon, and Copper Argon.
Digital Catalogs and Archives
Additionally, miscellaneous catalogs are available in the various FTP archives at NOAO.
- CTIO logs of photographic plates obtained with the Blanco 4-m telescope.
- KPNO logs of photographic plates obtained Mayall 4-m telescope.
- High Resolution Atlas of Arcturus Spectra: Digital versions of the high resolution Arcturus Atlases by Hinkle, Wallace, Livingston, Valenti, and Harmer. The atlases are available in printed form from ASP.
- A Library of High Resolution Infrared Stellar Spectra: Digital spectra are presented for a variety of cool stars in the 2.02-2.42 micron region. The spectra have been corrected for telluric absorption and are at a resolution >45000. The data are from Wallace and Hinkle 1996 ApJS 107 312. The library is also available for download as a gzipped tar file.
- A Library of Medium Resolution Infrared Stellar Spectra: Spectra of MK standard stars covering the J, H, K, and L bands. The spectra have been corrected for telluric absorption and are at a resolution of 3000. The spectra are from five papers by (variously) Wallace, Hinkle, Meyer, Edwards, and Strom.
- Transmission of the Earth's Atmosphere from Kitt Peak measured at the NSO McMath telescope.
- Indo-US Library of Coude Feed Stellar Spectra Contains spectra of 1273 stars observed with the 0.9m Coude Feed telescope at KPNO. The spectra have been obtained at an original dispersion of 0.44 Angstroms/pixel, at a resolution of ~1 Angstroms FWHM covering a wavelength range of 3460 Angstroms to 9464 Angstroms. The stars have been selected to provide broad coverage of the atmospheric parameters effective temperature, surface gravity, and [Fe/H], as well as spectral type. A reference paper by Francisco Valdes, Ranjan Gupta, James Rose, Harinder Singh, and David Bell will appear in the ApJ Supplement Series.
- Jones Coudé Feed Spectral Library: Contains spectra of 684 stars observed with the Coudé Feed telescope and spectrograph at KPNO. The spectra cover the ranges 3820 - 4500 Å and 4780 - 5460 Å at a resolution of 1.8 Å FWHM (~60 km/sec). The spectra were described by Leitherer, C. et al. 1996 PASP, 108, 996.
- Jacoby et al. Library of Stellar Spectra: FITS images of the spectral catalog published by G. H. Jacoby, D. A Hunter, and C. A. Christian in ApJ Supp. 56, 257.
- A Library of Integrated Spectra of Galactic Globular Clusters: Published by Schiavon, R. P., Rose, J. A., Courteau, S. , and MacArthur, L. (accepted ApJS). Contains integrated spectra of 40 Galactic globular clusters, obtained with the Blanco 4-m telescope and R-C spectrogaph at CTIO. The spectra cover the range 3350-6430 Angstroms with ~3.1 Angstrom (FWHM) resolution.
- The Optical Spectrophotmetric Atlas of Supernova 1987A in the LMC, II. CCD Observations from Day 198 to 805 (Phillips, M. M. et al. 1990, A. J., 99, 1133) are available by FTP. This data archive consists of CCD spectra of SN 1987A obtained with the CTIO 1.5 m and 4.0 m telescopes.
